BACKGROUND

35 years of building software

The team behind Bastion Software Solutions has over 35 years of commercial software development experience, with a long history in file-transfer tooling.

Earlier work in this space includes B4FtpClient and B4FtpServer, originally released in the early 2000s. Bastion Software Solutions picks up that thread with a fresh, modern toolset built for current Windows versions and contemporary security standards.

Our approach

Small, focused tools that do one thing well.

No subscription lock-in

Perpetual licences with optional annual maintenance. Buy it, own it. Your software does not stop working because a subscription lapsed.

No telemetry

We do not collect usage data, errors, or feature analytics from running software. What happens on your machine stays on your machine.

Direct support

Email goes straight to the developer who wrote the code. No tier-one ticket queues, no offshore call centres.

TECHNOLOGY

Components and software for business

We build two kinds of product. Developer components — SFTP client and server, POP3, IMAP and SMTP clients, an embeddable mail server, and an Outlook PST library — that software companies build into their own applications. And business software, such as BastionMFT, our managed file transfer server, for organisations that need secure, auditable file exchange.

Everything is written in VB.NET on Microsoft .NET, from .NET Framework to .NET 10, and is used just as naturally from C#. Sample projects — and components on request — are written in C#, and where performance demands it some tools are written in C++. Each component is implemented in-house from the published standards rather than licensed from a third party, so the whole stack stays under our control, is kept current with modern cryptography, and is supported by the people who wrote it.
