BastionMFT
A managed file transfer server for Windows. The simplest way to receive files securely from internal and external parties — without the complexity or cost of enterprise file-transfer platforms.
Planned features
- SFTP over SSH with modern cipher suites
- Virtual user accounts, independent of Windows accounts
- Per-user home directories, isolated from one another
- Public-key and password authentication
- Connection logging and a full audit trail
- Service-mode operation for unattended deployment
- Load distribution across multiple nodes
- A lightweight memory footprint, suitable for VPS hosting
Built on our own transport
BastionMFT is built on an extended version of the same in-house SFTP engine we license to developers as Bastion SftpServer. Nothing in the transfer path is licensed in from a third party, so every layer is code we control, support and can fix ourselves.
The application layer adds what an operations team actually buys: user administration, auditing, reporting, scheduling and multi-node deployment. That extended build is used for BastionMFT and is not sold as a component.
Clustering is for load distribution. An SSH session cannot be moved between nodes mid-transfer, so a cluster shares identity, credentials and storage, and drains cleanly — it does not fail a transfer over.
Currently pre-alpha
BastionMFT is in active development and there is no firm release date. It will be sold under a perpetual licence with optional annual maintenance — no subscription lock-in, no telemetry, no nag screens. Pricing will be announced closer to release.
